Creating a sporting chance?
I recently received an invitation to contribute an editorial to the blog, Regarding Rights, a resource that provides academic and activist perspectives on human rights. The managing editors are my wonderful colleagues, Ben Authers and Emma Larking, who are postdoctoral fellows working with Hilary Charlesworth on Professor Charlesworth’s ARC Laureate Fellowship project, ‘Strengthening the International Human Rights System: Rights, Regulation and Ritualism.’
My contribution addresses the tensions of international law, Olympic corporatism, and regulatory ritualism as they surface in the UN Agenda on Sport for Development and Peace. The full editorial, “Creating a Sporting Chance? A Query into the UN Agenda on Sport for Development and Peace,” is available here.
