Critical Criminologist of the Year Award

I am honored to have been named the 2018 Critical Criminologist of the Year by the American Society of Criminology.

The Critical Criminologist of the Year Award honors an early-to-mid-career scholar whose distinguished accomplishments symbolize the spirit of critical criminology and social justice. It is based on the assessment of one’s scholarship, teaching, and/or service in recent years.

I receive the award at the social event and awards ceremony of the Division on Critical Criminology and Social Justice, which takes places on November 15th during the American Society of Criminology annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
